My Why

With each passing year, I feel it in my bones and each year it gets darker and the itch grows more intense. It’s consuming me. This general sense of unnerving, being rattled to my core and this deep, aching desire to grow, to emerge from the soil and spread my gangly limbs high up to the sky arms open. I want to say we did it. We built something. To look around at what we created. To live in our dream.

I dream about how I want our lives to look. How I want us to live - together. And when I speak of these dreams I feel as if I’m leaving a breath hanging, dangling in mid air. A breath I can’t get back. I feel wildly pressured by my job, our belongings, our needs, this general weight that life seems to carry. But the desire, the deep urging to live a simpler life, to live a life of purpose - creating, exploring, experiencing and sharing, to strengthen our crafts, to open our heart and homes can and should no longer be buried beneath the surface. Something needs to change.

Our Mission // We want to share our story. The story of our house & our homestead. We look to find beauty in everyday. We believe in keeping it real, in living with intention and slowing it down and bringing it back to the basics. But can we actually do that or are those just words? We want to deepen our passions and strengthen our crafts. And I hope this blog serves as a way to share our lives, our process and our journey with you. In sharing our story may you find inspiration, discover new passions or reignite old ones, cultivate a community, make new friends, slow down and be present along side me.
